Park Square + 3M Teen Professional Intensive
Presented in partnership with 3M
Park Square Theatre is proud to partner with 3M on the Park Square + 3M Teen Professional Intensive (TPI) - a reimagined and expanded summer program building on the success of last year’s Teen Intensive production of Clue: The Musical!
This four-week, hands-on intensive introduces high school students to the intersection of STEM, engineering, and professional theatre production through two focused participation tracks: Acting and Technical Theatre. Students work alongside Park Square’s designers, technicians, and teaching artists, with additional mentorship from 3M professionals, gaining real-world experience in collaboration, problem-solving, and creative innovation.
Participants in the Technical Theatre track explore lighting, sound, scenic design, costuming, props, and engineering principles, while Acting track students engage in performance training, rehearsal, and ensemble-based storytelling. Together, both tracks collaborate toward a fully realized production of Little Shop of Horrors, applying their skills in a live professional setting.
This intensive prioritizes access, mentorship, and career exploration, empowering students, particularly those from historically underrepresented communities, to explore pathways in STEAM and the performing arts while building confidence and professional skills.
Audition Sign-Up Now Open
The Park Square + 3M Teen Professional Intensive (TPI) is a program for advanced musical theatre high school performers looking for a high-intensity, professional-level experience. This year’s production is Little Shop of Horrors, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken.
Rehearsals: M-F, 9am-4pm, July 13th-August 7th
Performances: August 7th-9th (four total)
Director and Choreographer: Jack Moorman
Music Director: Natalie McComas
Throughout the rehearsal process, performers will also attend workshops and receive visits from artists around the city. These special guests will dive into skills such as self-tapes, college auditions, and living as an artist.
Auditions are open to high school performers only (current freshmen through graduating seniors). PST encourages actors of all ethnicities, cultures, gender identities, socioeconomic statuses, and abilities to audition.
Actors MUST have no conflicts from August 3rd to August 9th. All other conflicts must be listed on the audition form. If admitted into the program, performers are required to pay a small activity fee of $150. If you are offered a role and this is a barrier to participation for you, please let us know.
Auditions will be held at Park Square Theatre on February 6th and 7th. Callbacks will be held on February 8th and are by invitation only.
Interested in theatre tech and design? TPI also runs a tech/design camp alongside the performance track. Learn more HERE.
