Current Job Opportunity: Technical Director

Position Title: Technical Director

The Technical Director plans and manages the production of all scenery and provides technical coordination of costuming, props, lights, and sound; supports the Director of Production in producing work that is exceptional in quality; takes a leadership role to help create and support a working and producing environment that is artistically rewarding, welcoming to artists and employees of diverse backgrounds, efficient and safe.

Reports to: Director of Production

Coordinates with: Production Manager, Operations Manager, Advancement Manager, Guest Services Manager, Education Manager

Direct Reports: Department Supervisors, Overhire Technicians

Status: Full Time, Salaried Exempt

Salary: $47,000-$49,000, commensurate with experience

Current Job Opportunity: Summer Camp Manager

Position Description: PST is seeking two (2) Summer Camp Managers to help facilitate and support our summer camp programs. This administrative position is ideal for experienced and emerging professionals who enjoy working with youth, theatre and other creative arts, and being a part of a collaborative team.

Position Summary: Be part of an organization that provides hands-on experience in theatre education. Provide on-site support to teaching staff; communicate with parents and families; facilitate the registration, transfer, and cancellation process for program enrollment; supervise youth; communicate with PST staff; and other duties as assigned.

This is a seasonal, part-time position that is not eligible for benefits.

This position is ideal for: experienced and emerging administrators, teachers, and artists who thrive in arts-centric youth work by collaborating with young people, teaching artists, classroom assistants, and arts administrators. To be successful in this role, you must enjoy navigating a fast-paced work environment where you remain active & social throughout the day, successfully accomplish a variety of daily tasks, frequently problem-solve, and continuously support young people who are in kindergarten-12th grade.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for teachers, students, and staff.

  • Work all sessions for which you are scheduled.

  • Model power-sharing and develop supportive relationships with students, teachers, classroom assistants, administrators, and parents/caregivers.

  • Actively create & maintain safe, inclusive, and creative learning environments where all students feel a sense of agency & belonging.

  • Support Teaching Artists, Classroom Assistants, and Education Apprentices with opportunities to lead activities, and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.

  • Arrive at the class site with enough time to prepare the classrooms for the programming, and reset the classrooms to neutral at the end of the day.

  • Assist in navigating classroom needs including behavior concerns, illness, injury, emergency, or teacher requests.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Verifiable experience working with young people.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and show leadership.

  • A strong understanding of student safety, privacy, & wellbeing best practices.

  • Ability to memorize and track information including dates, times, locations, student information, and class information.

  • Ability to exert a high-level of energy, sit, stand, bend, twist, lift, walk, and run for 8 hours each day.

  • Customer service oriented.

  • Strong verbal communication skills.

  • Reliable transportation to and from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in the Highland Park Neighborhood of Saint Paul, and Park Square Theatre in downtown Saint Paul.

  • A working phone and email which is checked regularly.

  • A good sense of humor with the ability to take things in stride and be flexible.

Anticipated Work Dates:

Summer Planning and Preparation:

Flexible start date, aiming for early-mid May.

Planning and Preparation time is roughly 10-15 hours a week.

Summer Camp Dates:

AM Shift: 7:30am-1:30pm

PM Shift: 12:00pm-6:00pm

Camp runs Monday-Friday from June 16th-August 20th

NO Camp Friday, July 4th, and Thursday/Friday August 21/22

Location of Summer Camps: Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 Snelling Ave S, St Paul, MN 55116

Wage: $22.50/hour

Job Description

The Administrative Assistant provides essential support across multiple departments within the theatre, including Advancement (fundraising and marketing), Education (class scheduling and customer service), Operations (financial organization and bookkeeping), Patron Services (group scheduling), and Artistic and Production (script and contract management). This role ensures the efficient operation of Park Square Theatre by maintaining records, organizing files, assisting with communications, and supporting general administrative functions. The Administrative Assistant acts as a liaison between departments, helping to foster a collaborative and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Advancement & Marketing Support

● Assist with donor and patron database management through Salesforce (Patron Manager).

● Support fundraising efforts, including mailings, donor acknowledgments, and event coordination.

● Contribute to marketing initiatives by organizing digital assets and assisting with promotional materials. (Including but not limited to social media, press releases, communication with press, etc.)

● Assist in grant calendaring

Education Support

● Help coordinate classes and scheduling of teaching artists and overall education department support

Operations & Financial Organization

● Support bookkeeping tasks such as invoice tracking and financial documentation.

● Maintain organizational records, filing systems, and expense tracking.

● Order office and production-related supplies as needed.

Production & Artistic Administration

● Manage and organize scripts, contracts, and production documents.

● Assist with scanning, filing, and maintaining digital archives for production materials.

● Convert physical calendar into digital google calendar - maintaining up to date events.

Patron Services Support

● Assist in conducting box offices hours

● Schedule and coordinate group sales (calling schools, retirement communities, etc.)

General Administrative Support

● Keep Park Square Theatre’s Google Drive and internal filing systems organized.

● Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and meeting preparation across departments.

● Serve as a liaison between various departments to ensure smooth operations.

● Organize physical spaces including rehearsal rooms, library, conference rooms, and storage rooms.

● Any other tasks as needed that come up in the regular operations of a professional theatre.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

● Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and problem-solve proactively.

● Experience with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, database management, and office coordination.

● Proficiency with Google Suite; familiarity with Salesforce (Patron Manager) or other CRM systems is a plus but not required. We can provide training with Salesforce (Patron Manager).

● A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for supporting a nonprofit arts organization.

● Previous experience in a performing arts or nonprofit setting is a bonus but not required.

Compensation & Schedule

● This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule.

● Hourly wage is commensurate with experience.

Play Submissions

Park Square Theatre values the artistic work and voice of all artists and writers. However, we do not accept unsolicited submissions of plays and musicals. We only access submissions from licensed theatrical agents.

Auditions

Open auditions are held once a year, with rolling auditions for pertinent shows posted with notice. Auditions can include but are not limited to acting, singing, and dancing. Notice for the date and time of general auditions will be given and posted on our website, social media, and appropriate channels like MN Playlist.
