Auditions

Audition Notice: A CHORUS LINE

Park Square Theatre is seeking Equity and Non-Equity dancers/singers/actors (ages 18 to late 30s) for our 2026 production of A CHORUS LINE. This production will feature a full staging of Michael Bennett’s original Broadway choreography and score. Performers must be strong dancers with musical theatre vocal, and acting ability.

Performance Dates

May 15 – June 14, 2026

Rehearsals begin in February 2026.

About the Production

We are casting a full company of triple-threat performers for both principal and ensemble roles. Applicants must have extensive experience in jazz, ballet, tap, and musical theatre.

Principal auditions are for the 19 featured roles.

Chorus auditions are for 7 dancers who appear in the opening number and serve as backup singers and swings throughout the production.

Audition Requirements

Dance Preparation

  • Dancers will learn a jazz combination from "I Hope I Get It"

  • Please wear form-fitting attire that allows movement and shows technique

  • Performers are responsible for their own warm-up

  • Female-identifying performers should bring character heels

  • Male-identifying performers should bring jazz or character shoes

Vocal Preparation

  • Prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre or pop song from the 1970s in the style of the show

  • Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided

Video Submissions

If you are unable to attend in-person auditions, Park Square Theatre will accept video submissions.

Subject line: A CHORUS LINE – [Your Full Name], [Age], [Location]

You may submit a separate dance and singing video.

Dance Video:

Please include examples of both jazz and ballet technique. This may be a performance reel or standalone combinations.

Singing Video:

Submit 32 bars of a musical theatre song either from A Chorus Line or in a similar 1970s musical theatre style.

Include a brief slate with your name, pronouns, and location at the start of the video.

Video submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. Park Square reserves the right to close the video submission window at any time following the conclusion of in-person auditions.

Please note: Park Square Theatre is unable to provide relocation assistance, housing, or per diem. We strongly encourage submissions from performers based in the Twin Cities or surrounding areas.

Open / General Auditions

Open auditions are held once a year, with rolling auditions for pertinent shows posted with notice. Auditions can include, but are not limited to, acting, singing, and dancing. Notice for the date and time of general auditions will be given and posted on our website, social media, and appropriate channels like MN Playlist.

Employment Opportunities

Park Square Theatre employs both part-time and full-time staff in the areas of production, education, and administration. Employment opportunities for both part-time and full-time roles will be posted here, as well as on various local job boards such as the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Springboard for the Arts, and Minnesota Playlist.

Play Submissions

Park Square Theatre values the artistic work and voice of all artists and writers. However, we do not accept unsolicited submissions of plays and musicals. We only access submissions from licensed theatrical agents.
