About Each Session:

Learning Plan & Lesson Design (March 6th and 20th)

Elevate your practice by crafting a thoughtful, and detailed plan for your classroom that focuses on learning/process based outcomes rather than product based outcomes. Explore techniques for how to build a Learning Plan for different types of classrooms (one-day workshops, multi-week residencies, etc.), and how to best asses how your students digesting, reflecting, and using the information they are learning.

Creative Drama and Story Drama Practices (March 13th)

Early Learners (PreK-2nd Grade) thrive when they get to dive into their imaginations, and PLAY! This course will share best practices for planning and designing these types of classrooms. Go beyond just teaching games and activities, and build immersive, imaginative worlds with these young artists. In Story Drama, we will focus on how this practice promotes creative problem solving, and how to choose the best books and learning goals.

Changing the Game: Scaffolding Activities and Classroom Management Techniques (March 27th)

This workshop is two fold, in the first half we will focus on how the same game can be utilized in different aged/skilled classroom, how to achieve different outcomes using the same game/activity, and how to shape your activity reflection to best understand what your students have learned.

In the second half, we will explore several different classroom management techniques, behavior management, and power sharing in the classroom. This aims to disrupt the traditional power dynamics of teacher/assistant/student, and use a trauma informed lens when interacting with students.

You are invited to any and all of these, but please note that the Learning Plan and Lesson Design session is repeated on the 6th and 20th.

Please RSVP to each date, so that we can best prepare. Sessions will be capped at 30 participants.

An email confirmation will be sent out one week prior to each session.
