POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Advancement Manager

Reports To: Executive Artistic Director and Managing Director

Coordinates with: Resource and Development Committee and Park Square staff

Status: Full-time, exempt 40 hours/week occasional evening and weekend work required-depending on events

Salary & Benefit Package: $52,000-$58,000, including full Health/medical and generous PTO plan.

Park Square Theatre is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team in the role of Advancement Manager. The Advancement Manager will have experience supporting external relations through development and marketing. Park Square Theatre is looking for an individual with a willingness to grow in leadership with a quickly advancing organization.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

This vital position will develop and implement effective strategies to build productive and rewarding external relationships to benefit the Theatre. This individual will be mature, articulate, and confident – thriving in social and business situations, one-on-one and with groups of all sizes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General

● Serve as a core member of the staff

● Participate in staff and board committee meetings

● Manage CRM database

Marketing

● Coordinate marketing and communications to promote the theater’s activities

● Coordinate outside grant contractors

● Execute external marketing and communication strategies

● Coordinates marketing efforts including social media, emails, press materials and electronic or printed promotional materials, including programs

● Collaborate with Park Square Theatre staff on marketing calendar for all events and programs

● Work with Executive Artistic Director to respond to all necessary communications on social media, email as well as press releases or other media communications

● Update and edit the Park Square Theatre website

Development

● Builds and sustains individual giving through building relationships and detail-oriented execution of responsibilities.

● Manage gift processing and acknowledgements through Patron Manager

● Manage and maintain donor and foundation lists and maintain development calendar

● Supports board of directors in planning and executing fundraising events, including promotion and administrative support

● Build and sustain corporate and foundation giving

● Serve on the Resource Development Committee and guide committee assignments

● Work with contracted grant writers, ensuring deadlines are met for proposals and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in arts administration, marketing, communications or related or equivalent work experience

Minimum Experience:

● Experience working in development or marketing for a non-profit organization

● Familiarity with Twin Cities fundraising community

● Experience creating social media and or website and email content

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Excellent time management, organizational and critical thinking skills

● Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion

● Experience working in collaboration with others in a team environment

Desired Experience:

● Design experience on digital platforms

● Experience using Marketing 360, Emma, Patron Manager, Canva and/or Coursestorm a plus
