Dive into an immersive musical and theatrical experience as the heart of Saint Paul’s Arts District takes on a modern Latin beat. Twin Cities top Latino talents fill Park Square Theatre’s Andy Boss Thrust Stage with a celebration of words, art and music inspired by Federico García Lorca’s play Blood Wedding. Through complete sensory immersion, The Palabras Project transforms this classic tale of star-crossed lovers and a generations-old feud into a performance event alive with passion and magic, as Death and the Moon draw us into the rituals of love, betrayal and revenge.
The Palabras Project weaves throughout the theatre, combining the provocative flamenco dance of Susana di Palma, the hip-hop influenced Boricua music of Maria Isa, the indigenous art of Armando Gutierrez G., the masks and puppets of Gustavo Boada, and the storytelling of Dario Tangelson, with the theatrical vision of Ricardo Vázquez and Jessica Huang.
“Never forget the pride for our cultura, our language, our movement …” –Maria Isa
