Following his 2011 hit Oliver Twist, Joel Sass brings his dynamic, visionary style to the bright and dark sides of ambition, class, and love.

Synopsis

As a boy, Pip meets an escaped convict, a reclusive widow, and a feisty orphan, and the encounters will change his life in ways he can’t imagine. When he comes into unexpected riches, Pip begins the gentleman’s life he has always dreamed of, he soon realizes the price of his aspirations. This brand new adaptation is a thrilling combination of sound, music, and imagery that offer piercing observations of Dickens’ inimitable characters. Following last season’s hit Oliver Twist, Joel Sass brings his dynamic, visionary style to the bright and dark sides of ambition, class, and love. A marvelous old tale for a new generation.

Adult Language

Great Expectations contains no adult language.

Violence

There are four instances in which characters have brief physical altercations. A character is killed off a boat, and another catches fire.

Drugs/Alcohol/Smoking

Alcohol is consumed.

Sexual References/Nudity

None.

Other Mature Themes

Younger children may be frightened by the villains and the few instances of violence.

Running Time

Approximately 2 hours 40 minutes, including one 20-minute intermission.
