Theatre Makers: Students create short vignettes or tableau responding to the work they see on stage at PST. Students will practice the actor’s tools of voice, body, & imagination to collaborate on original work, inspired by live performance.
Acting Shakespeare’s Words: Students will experiment with the tools actors use to explore and interpret Shakespeare’s Verse. Then students perform short bits of text by setting it in modern scenarios from their own lives and expressing it in their voices & bodies with conviction.
Unarmed Stage Combat: Through stretching and movement exercises, students become tuned to the body’s natural flow and use it to learn the techniques of stage combat.
Improv!: Games and exercises help students to free their instincts, take risks, and be brave as improvisers. Working collaboratively, students learn to support one another and find comedy in their own hilarious ideas.
Movement for Performers: Through exercises in movement students will learn to free physical choices and create unique characters of their own design. Students will connect to their bodies and gain confidence in making creative decisions and respecting the choices of others
